It's almost 20 years since they first formed, and six years
since their last reunion as a five-piece. And today the Backstreet Boys
were all back in force again.
The five-piece group
graced the Good Morning America stage, performing some of their classic
hits, to a packed out crowd at Rumsey Playfield in New York's Central
Park.
For the first time since 2006, Nick Carter,
Brian Littrell, Howie Dorough, A.J. McLean, Kevin Richardson belted out
the likes of I Want It That Way and Everybody (Backstreet's Back).

They sang Incomplete for their opening number.
Richardson, 40, recently rejoined the group three months ago, following his 2006 exit.
He told the assembled fans about his return: 'I'm a person that follows my heart and gut, and my heart said this is the time.'

Tragedy

Following their performance of Incomplete, GMA's news anchor Josh Elliott dedicated the track to host Robin Roberts.
It
comes after news today that Robin's mother Lucimarian, 88, passed away.
Roberts bowed out of GMA a day early for medical leave for a bone
marrow transplant a day early, explaining something had happened at
home.
The Backstreet Boys have sold a staggering 130m
albums worldwide - and are currently the top trending topic in the
world following their GMA appearance.

But there has been heartache for some of late.
In February Nick Carter, 32, tragically lost his sister Leslie, 25, from an apparent overdose.
And
in July 2011 McLean, 34, checked into rehab for 'personal reasons'
telling People.com at the time: 'I want to be healthy and perform and
sing for people at my very best and happiest.'
The band a now working on a new album, set for release next spring to mark their 20th anniversary.
